Setting Up Google Classroom
What I thought would be a very simple task surely was not! I have started and stopped this recording more than a dozen times. Between having to pause for sneezing, kids interrupting me, or just plain messing up, this took forever!
This was just so incredibly difficult for me. This is an assignment that REEEEAAALLLYYY took me out of my comfort zone. I do not like any form of presentation and this had me stressing out! Even with a script, I felt like a fumbling mess! I was shocked at how hard this was for me.
Since this screencast was a such a challenge, I preferred to keep the content basic. In my original attempts, I went through many more detailed steps but felt it did not flow well and I kept making mistakes. Even though this is not something I enjoyed doing now, I still can see the value in it and hope to be able to become more comfortable using this in the future because I think it could be a great way to share information with both colleagues and students...and maybe even the world!
Hi Christina,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your great screencast. You started with a great rationale explaining to teachers why this Google App is relevant to your classroom. Your objective was stated clearly, so the audience knows exactly what to expect in your teaching. The steps you presented were clear and simple, and you gave good wait time for those that may be setting up their Google Classroom while watching your screencast.
Hi, Christina.
ReplyDeleteI liked that you began explaining what Google Classroom is and how you do it. I love when teachers explain why and how these use certain tools. You speak very clearly and slowly which makes it really easy to follow along if a teacher was making one as she was watching your video. The steps are explained very well as I know that some of my colleagues are afraid of using Google Classroom because they think it is difficult to set-up, but your video shows how easy it actually is. I also liked how you explained all the "perks" such as setting up calendar dates and times as well as assignment due dates. I also thought it was great that you showed how to use the "add teacher" part because as a teacher who taught a guided study hall, this made it easy for me to be part of other teachers' classrooms for my kiddos who never had any homework, until I got into the class myself and was able to remind them that they did!
You did a GREAT job :)

Christina,
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job explaining how to set up a Google Classroom. Have more confidence in yourself! This was very detailed and easy to follow. Your screencast included a lot of features I did not know was available on Google Classroom. This was a nice refresher of technology I was originally taught a few years ago. At the time, I knew very little about Google and was not ready to jump into it. Now that I have more experience with Google this was a reminder of how easy it is to use this technology. Thanks!
Christina,
ReplyDeleteI have not used google classroom.I do not know much about it. You gave me strong background knowledge as to why to use it. i hope this screen cast does not go away because I will be viewing it again to help me get a google classroom set up. i really like the invite teacher option. I can see the benefits in it when collaborating with teachers. Thank you for sharing that information.
Christina-You did wonderful! I had no idea of how Google Classrooms works, so I found a lot of value in your screencast. I plan to use your Google Classroom screencast to help me set up a site for my class this coming school year!
